Unplanned pregnancy

You are unplanned pregnant. What choice will you make? A choice that fits your life and your future. Do you continue the pregnancy, or do you choose an abortion? Whatever you choose, it’s okay.

Information and support for an unplanned pregnancy, with attention to your feelings and choices.

Take your time

Every feeling counts. Every emotion is allowed to be there. Whether you are very doubtful or have already made the choice quickly. Tell your story, ask your questions and above all … take your time. At Mildred Clinics, we listen to you without judgment. We also offer you support and correct information to make the choice that fits your situation. After all, it’s your body, your decision.

If you choose abortion treatment, we provide professional and safe care.

Abortion treatment at Mildred Clinics is available from 5 to 18 weeks of pregnancy. Depending on how long you are pregnant, different treatments are available:

  • the abortion pill from 5 to 9 weeks of pregnancy
  • a suction treatment from 5 to 13 weeks of gestation
  • instrumental treatment from 13 to 18 weeks of gestation

Intake interview and treatment

During the intake interview, you will discuss with a doctor and usually a nurse your situation, options and any questions or doubts you may have. An ultrasound will be taken to determine how long you have been pregnant. Do you opt for abortion treatment? Then together we determine which treatment suits you and make an appointment, usually the same day.

Together we talk about contraception and its options in our clinic.

Other options

Would you like to talk further about alternatives to terminating your pregnancy, such as adoption, foster care or raising a child yourself? Do you have doubts or really don’t know what to do? There are many decision aid organizations that can support you in this, see infopuntonbedoeldzwanger.nl.

My (ex-)partner is unplanned pregnant

An unintended pregnancy often has a (major) impact on your relationship and future. Ultimately, as a (former) partner, you do not determine what happens with the pregnancy. In this situation, you have no control over an important part of your life. Of course, this does not mean that you have no role or that it does not affect you.

You may, of course, accompany your (former) partner to support her during her visit to the clinic. In the frequently asked questions you can read what you may and may not be present for.

Expertise center FIOM offers you support as a partner and provides more information.
