Contraception

After an abortion, you are immediately fertile again. That means you can get pregnant. By using birth control, you can prevent pregnancy.

Contraceptive counseling at Mildred Clinics, tailored to your body and personal situation.

Which contraception is right for me?

During the discussion at the clinic, we can explain to you about different forms of contraception. Together we’ll see what suits you. Want to learn more about contraception and its reliability in advance? Then do the Rutgers Foundation’s decision aid.

Contraception in the clinic

Are you being treated at our clinic? We offer several contraceptive options.

  • Would you like to have an IUD or hormone rod placed after suction or instrumental treatment? If so, we can usually place this during treatment.
  • Do you want to get an IUD or hormone rod after abortion pill treatment? Then we can do this at the follow-up check after 4-6 weeks. For this you make a separate appointment.
  • Is a prescription needed, for example, for the birth control pill? Our doctor can make these for you. This allows you to go directly to your own pharmacy.

Cost

You may have to pay for the contraceptive options available at our clinic. Want to know what this is like in your situation? Then check with your health insurance company to see if these costs are (partially) reimbursed. Do you have other questions? Call or email us.
