An unplanned pregnancy often has a (major) impact on your relationship and future. Ultimately, as a partner, you do not determine what happens with the pregnancy. In this situation, you have no control over an important part of your life. Of course, that doesn’t mean you don’t have a role or that you don’t care. <\/p>

Would someone like you to accompany her to the clinic? You can and do. You are welcome to attend the intake interview and ultrasound. To be sure that the choice of treatment has been made freely, the doctor or nurse will want to do part of the interview with the woman alone. <\/p>

You are not allowed in the treatment room and the rest room. You will then wait in the waiting room. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

My child is a minor and unintentionally pregnant<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

If your child wants an abortion, and she is younger than 16, a parent or guardian’s consent is required for an abortion. As a parent or guardian, you also sign the treatment agreement. <\/p>

If this consent is not obtained, she can still go to the abortion clinic or family doctor. The doctor assesses whether the young woman understands the consequences of her choice. If so, abortion treatment may still take place, without consent. Doctors are not required to inform the parent(s) or guardian(s) about this. <\/p>
